Derek Willard, 26 was found bleeding in the parking lot of Play-by-Play Sports Bar & Lounge, 440 S. Cypress Road around 12:20 a.m. Oct. 31.
Regional Communications received a call about shots fired in the area of 451 S.E. 1 Ave. in Pompano Beach.
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, BSO homicide detectives, the Crime Scene Unit, and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue also responded. Willard was taken to Broward Health North where he was pronounced dead.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
