Joseph Watt & Michael Johnson Jr. Found Deceased

Two 35-year-old men Joseph Watt and 35-year-old Michael Johnson Jr. of Merritt Island were found deceased after the brother of Joseph Watt contacted the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office advising he had located the deceased males at a residence in the 6900 block of Ackerman Avenue, Port Saint John.

On June 20, the brother of one of the victims notified the Sheriff’s Office at East Precinct of two adult individuals who were last seen in the area of Merritt Island on June 16, 2017, and were considered missing and believed deceased.

The trauma to the victims indicates homicide and the Post Mortems are scheduled. The investigative findings to date indicate the two victims were specifically targeted and the incident was drug related.

This investigation is ongoing as members of the Crime Scene and Homicide Units are still collecting evidence and conducting interviews to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Sheriff’s Office will provide updates and further details as they become available.
