The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the early-morning robbery of a Daytona Beach-area 7-11 by a suspect armed with a wooden club.
Deputies responded to the convenience store at 1200 Flomich St. around 5:07 a.m., minutes after the robbery occurred. An employee said he was standing by a cooler near the register when the suspect walked into the store holding a club.
The suspect grabbed the employee by the collar and walked him back to the counter, where he ordered him to open the cash register. No one was injured.
The suspect was described as a white man, about 6 feet tall and 150 to 180 pounds, wearing a camouflage zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a built-in mask that concealed his face. He was also wearing gray pants and black and white Puma sneakers.
